Job summary

Proactive Appointments is seeking a Senior DevOps Systems Administrator in Surrey, offering hybrid work with one day per month in the office. The role focuses on owning complex cloud and infrastructure projects, spanning AWS and private cloud, automation, and security.

You will design, implement, and continuously improve secure, scalable cloud environments, collaborating with technical teams and clients to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience across DevOps, cloud infrastructure and systems administration.
• Comfortable owning complex infrastructure projects from design to delivery.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and infrastructure-as-code with modern monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and support AWS and private cloud infrastructure.
• Architect and maintain robust hybrid cloud environments.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Implement and improve monitoring and observability using Grafana, Prometheus and CloudWatch.
• Drive improvements in reliability, performance, scalability and security.
• Manage IAM, networking, firewalls, VPNs and cloud security.
• Take ownership of complex infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Participate in the on-call rota and respond effectively to incidents.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards and best practices.
