Job summary

DISCO is seeking a Software Engineer III (DevOps) to lead and contribute to complex software solutions within a SaaS environment. The role emphasizes system design, code quality, and collaboration with product managers and stakeholders across engineering teams.

The candidate will tackle sophisticated problems, contribute to architectural decisions, maintain documentation, and stay current with evolving cloud and DevOps practices to deliver scalable, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in software development, SaaS or similar environments.
• 3+ years in: Service Oriented Architecture, Docker-based services, micro-services, API and Data Model Design.
• Experience leading parts of significant software projects, independently or in teams.
• Experience building large-scale, high-availability software systems.
• Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers for service communication.
• Experience selecting and extending 3rd party components for operational leverage.
• Experience with CI/CD and a strong testing pyramid.
• Experience using feature/release toggles as a code branching strategy.
• Experience with Contract-first design and cross-system negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Lead small projects or components and contribute to feature sets with quality architecture.
• Ensure code quality via reviews, optimization, and best practices.
