Job summary

LocalStack is seeking a senior cloud infrastructure engineer to own and operate our internal cloud environment. You will contribute to secure multi-account governance, IAM/SOC 2 alignment, and cost management while supporting a distributed engineering team.

You will shape reliability, observability, and automation using Terraform, CDK, or Pulumi, in a fully remote setup with a global team and a strong focus on security and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Deep AWS experience at org level with multi-account governance.
• IaC is the primary method; experience with Terraform, CDK or Pulumi.
• Experience evolving systems toward SOC 2 / ISO 27001 compliance.
• Identity and access management with SSO/MFA and centralised controls.
• Self-hosted tooling ownership and uptime responsibility.
• Observability, alerting design and on-call for a distributed team.
• Cloud cost management / FinOps fundamentals.
• Multi-cloud familiarity; Azure is a plus.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Own internal cloud infrastructure and serve as primary contact for cloud operations.
• Manage and improve multi-account cloud environment with governance and security.
• Maintain SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance; ensure ongoing audit readiness.
• Operate IAM, SSO, MFA, permissions, and joiner/mover/leaver processes.
• Maintain self-hosted internal services; ensure uptime and SLAs.
• Monitor cloud posture, health, and proactive risk identification.
• Own cost management and help teams identify cost/reliability risks.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve reliability and scalability.
