Job summary

DWP Digital is seeking a senior DevOps specialist to drive standards and enable teams across the organisation. You will mentor engineers, shape CI/CD pipelines, and manage IaC across Azure and other clouds.

You will work in a hybrid setup with flexible hours, contributing to a once-in-a-generation transformation of public services. The role offers significant autonomy and opportunities to influence engineering practices at scale.

Qualifications

• DevOps experience spanning multiple teams with standardisation across the organisation.
• Proven ability to mentor DevOps engineers in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tooling including GitLab CI or Jenkins.
• Strong IaC practice and multi-cloud provider configuration.
• Hands-on containerisation and orchestration across platforms.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• Deep experience with Azure cloud platforms from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-team DevOps practices and define best-in-class standards.
• Mentor and support DevOps engineers in agile environments.
• Review Terraform designs and oversee CI/CD pipelines.
• Shape platform strategy and ensure security, resilience and scalability.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to drive transformation and adoption.
