Job summary

Microlise is seeking a DevOps Engineer to enhance CI/CD pipelines, observability and deployment automation across our software platforms. You will work with Software Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Developers and Infrastructure teams to drive automation, reliability and operational maturity.

This 12-month fixed-term contract offers a chance to contribute to key business-critical projects using modern technologies in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments.
• Strong automation across build, deployment and environment management.
• Experience with source control, branching strategies and release management.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git-based workflows and YAML-driven automation.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform/Ansible.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Monitoring, logging and observability solution experience.
• Experience across Windows and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for safe, repeatable releases.
• Automate build, deployment, configuration and environment mgmt tasks.
• Collaborate to improve branching strategies, build validation and release governance.
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code, deployment scripts and templates.
• Enhance observability with logging, monitoring and dashboards.
• Support reliability and operational readiness through proactive monitoring.
• Investigate deployment issues and implement sustainable fixes.
• Embed security, secrets management and vulnerability practices in pipelines.
• Maintain development, test and release environments for efficient delivery.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
• Contribute to DevOps standards and communities of practice.
