Job summary

Ofwat is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the IT Operations Team in Birmingham, offering hybrid working. The role centers on establishing deployment pipelines and controls for a modern data platform using Azure DevOps and Microsoft Fabric.

You will configure, automate, and secure deployment processes across development, testing and production, ensuring repeatable, auditable changes. This is a hands-on senior role with the opportunity to shape our data delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

Significant experience delivering Azure DevOps CI/CD for cloud/data platforms.
Experience deploying and managing Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services using DevOps practices.
Strong automation and infrastructure-as-code skills for scalable, maintainable solutions.
Knowledge of secure delivery practices in Azure, including access controls and secrets management.
Experience implementing automated, governed deployment across development, test and production environments.
Experience supporting production services, deployment monitoring, and incident response.
Ability to share knowledge within multidisciplinary teams and promote DevOps best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, build and operate deployment pipelines for data platforms.
Configure Azure DevOps repositories, environment setups, approvals and pipelines.
Integrate Azure DevOps with Fabric and related Microsoft services.
Implement testing, release and rollback controls for updates.
Diagnose deployment issues and continuously improve deployment processes.
