Xelix, a fast-growing fintech‑adjacent scale‑up in London, is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to own reliability, scalability and security of our cloud platform. Based in London, you’ll work from the office several days weekly, collaborating with engineering, data and security teams to push infrastructure excellence.

You’ll manage IaC with Terraform, operate AWS ECS/EKS, build CI/CD via GitHub Actions, and ensure robust database operations (RDS/Aurora) while applying a strong DevSecOps approach.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform or infrastructure with production ownership.
• Strong Python for automation and tooling.
• Deep AWS experience with container platforms ECS/EKS.
• Proven Terraform expertise for IaC across environments.
• Experience with PostgreSQL in AWS RDS/Aurora and performance tuning.
• CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions expertise.
• DevSecOps mindset: security in pipelines, secrets, compliance.
• Linux, networking, and distributed infra troubleshooting.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with engineering, data and security.
• London-based and able to work from the office several days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS with ECS/EKS.
• Own Infrastructure-as-Code estate in Terraform across environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Manage production databases with RDS/Aurora incl. backups and migrations.
• Support ML Ops workloads and reliable ML infrastructure.
• Write Python for automation and tooling.
• Embed DevSecOps practices in pipelines and secrets management.
• Improve monitoring, alerting and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production systems.
