Job summary

Veeqo Limited in Swansea, UK is seeking a DevOps Engineer to own and improve the resiliency and security of its infrastructure across AWS environments. You will build tooling, automate deployment, and collaborate with multiple product teams to ensure high operational standards.

You will be on-call for production incidents, contribute to multi-AZ reliability and monitoring, and drive cost optimisations while maintaining strong change-management practices.

Qualifications

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the infrastructure underpinning Veeqo's e-commerce platform across production, staging and pre-production AWS environments (EKS, Aurora, ElastiCache/Valkey, SQS, Amazon MQ, S3).
• Drive security and compliance delivery: ASR certification, Shepherd risk remediation, environment separation, CVE response and patching.
• Execute infrastructure cost optimisation against S-team goals (DRAM reduction, right-sizing, VPA adoption).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/VQJenkins migration, deployment automation, Terraform).
• Participate in on-call rotation (primary and secondary) for production incident response, triage and resolution.
• Deliver infrastructure changes via MCMs (Managed Change Management) with full rollback planning and operational rigour.
• Contribute to platform reliability: multi-AZ resilience, monitoring (Prometheus/CloudWatch), alerting and observability.
