Job summary

Sopra Steria Ltd is seeking a Lead DevOps & Automation Engineer to own all DevOps and automation activities. You will lead a team, shape ways of working and drive innovation across secure enterprise environments.

Responsibilities include embedding DevOps practices, mentoring engineers, designing automation solutions and supporting pre-sales with technical requirements. London, Manchester or Gloucestershire locations. Salary £55,000–£75,000, plus car allowance and benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, automation pipelines and systems integration.
• Proactive in identifying risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• End-to-end ownership of automation initiatives from concept to delivery.
• Production experience with mainly Microsoft, and also Linux technologies in secure, enterprise-scale environments.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to build, develop and embed DevOps practices and ways of working.
• Support growth and development of DevOps Engineers on the team.
• Design and implement solutions leveraging DevOps and automation across the account.
• Develop scripts and configurations supporting infrastructure as code strategy.
• Provide technical support, mentoring and fault resolution during projects.
• Assist sales in pre-sales to define requirements and opportunities.
