Job summary

Sopra Steria Ltd is seeking a Lead DevOps & Automation Engineer to own all DevOps and automation activities. You will lead a team, shape ways of working and drive innovation across secure enterprise environments.

Responsibilities include embedding DevOps practices, mentoring engineers, designing automation solutions and supporting pre-sales with technical requirements. London, Manchester or Gloucestershire locations. Salary £55,000–£75,000, plus car allowance and benefits.

Qualifications

Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, automation pipelines and systems integration.
Proactive in identifying risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
End-to-end ownership of automation initiatives from concept to delivery.
Production experience with mainly Microsoft, and also Linux technologies in secure, enterprise-scale environments.
Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.

Responsibilities

Lead a team to build, develop and embed DevOps practices and ways of working.
Support growth and development of DevOps Engineers on the team.
Design and implement solutions leveraging DevOps and automation across the account.
Develop scripts and configurations supporting infrastructure as code strategy.
Provide technical support, mentoring and fault resolution during projects.
Assist sales in pre-sales to define requirements and opportunities.
