Job summary

Sopra Steria Ltd is seeking a DevOps & Automation Engineer for their Aerospace, Defence and Security team. This on-site role is based in London, Manchester or Gloucestershire, with enhanced security clearance expectations.

You will design and implement DevOps and automation across complex programmes, focusing on secure, reliable infrastructure and end-to-end automation. You will mentor engineers, develop pipelines, and drive automation initiatives across the team, contributing to secure delivery

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft and Linux in secure environments.
• Hands-on with configuration management and IaC.
• Automation tooling experience with Ansible and Terraform.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python is essential.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or equivalent.
• Understanding of network security and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing DevOps and automation solutions across the account.
• Developing scripts and configurations supporting IaC approaches.
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
• Owning automation initiatives from design to delivery and handover.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
• Troubleshooting issues across infrastructure and pipelines.
