Job Title: Senior Development Manager

Location: London (West London project site and Central London office)

About the Company: We are working with a leading developer with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, landmark projects across London and the UK. They are currently undertaking an ambitious and exciting development in West London - almost 1000 new homes that will redefine the area and provide significant value to the community. They are committed to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Development Manager to lead the successful delivery of this major regeneration project from the detailed design stage through to completion and handover. This is a critical role that requires a proven ability to manage complex construction processes, stakeholders, and budgets on large-scale developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the project delivery phase, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee the detailed design and technical coordination process, working closely with architects, engineers, and specialist consultants.
  • Manage the procurement process for the main contractor and key sub-contractors, including contract negotiation and administration.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the main contractor, overseeing their performance and ensuring compliance with the contract terms and project requirements.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project budgets, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, planning conditions, and health and safety requirements.
  • Lead and motivate the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, key milestones, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including local authorities, utility providers, and community groups.
  • Oversee the quality control process, ensuring the delivered product meets the company's standards and specifications.
  • Manage the project handover process, including snagging, commissioning, and close-out procedures.

About You:

  • Proven experience (minimum 8-10 years) in managing the delivery of large-scale, complex development projects, with a strong focus on high-rise residential or mixed-use towers.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing projects through the construction phase from detailed design to completion.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, contracts (JCT or similar), and procurement methods.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Strong technical understanding of building design and construction, including structural, M&E, and facade systems.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A proactive and problem-solving approach, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Relevant degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable.
  • Experience working on projects in London is highly desirable.
