Job summary

Neurobox in Cambridge (Hybrid, 3 days in office) or UK-based remote is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to own and shape complex software features. You will influence product design, ensure secure, scalable solutions, and mentor peers while prioritising maintainability and data integrity.

The role emphasises AI-enabled development, responsible tool use, and collaboration with Product to deliver production-ready software across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience as software engineer
• Experience building accessible interfaces to WCAG standards
• Experience with Laravel with Filament and Livewire, MySQL, and AWS (EC2, RDS, S3), with Stripe
• Strong commercial software development ownership of production systems or features
• Experience with APIs, databases, cloud environments, version control, automated testing, CI/CD
• Understanding of secure software development, privacy, performance, reliability
• Experience using AI-enabled development tools with considerations for security and IP
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of complex software features from discovery to production
• Build secure, testable, and maintainable software while addressing technical debt
• Contribute to architecture and technical design for scalable solutions
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development without compromising quality
• Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into products or workflows
• Strengthen engineering quality through code reviews, testing, observability, and CI/CD
• Support production services, investigate incidents, and drive improvements
• Foster an inclusive engineering culture with accountability and collaboration
