Job summary

CreateFuture is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java, Node.js and AWS experience to shape scalable systems and influence technical direction. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture, and embed AI/automation in delivery.

You'll thrive on solving complex problems, collaborating openly and delivering high-impact software for clients in a flexible, hybrid/remote environment across our UK hubs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java (8+) and Node.js in production systems.
• Strong knowledge of Spring ecosystem and REST APIs.
• Experience designing microservices and distributed architectures.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and containerisation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend systems in Java/Node.js.
• Lead architectural discussions and ensure maintainability and performance.
• Develop secure REST APIs with versioning and reliability in mind.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence with tests and reviews.
• Deliver across initiatives balancing speed, quality and value.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve client problems.
• Research AI capabilities and promote automation in delivery.
• Coach teams on modern development practices.
