JPMorgan Chase & Co. in London is seeking a Senior Designer – Design Systems within International Consumer Banking to help build a new digital banking experience from scratch.

You will design system components, tokens and ensure consistency across banking apps and customer touchpoints. You thrive in agile squads, bring hands-on design craft, and collaborate with product teams, researchers, technologists, and business experts to deliver scalable design systems while upholding WCAG accessibility

As a Senior Designer – Design Systems at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be a part of a flat-structure organisation. We are looking for solution-oriented customer-focused individuals, used to working in an agile environment who want to be a part of building something new from the ground up within a diverse and inclusive team. This role sits within the Product Design Team, which itself is part of the Design & Customer Experience Team primarily based in London with a growing contingence in Berlin. As a Senior Designer – Design Systems within International Consumer Banking, you will be at the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers.

Job responsibilities

• Drive design system excellence and uphold quality and consistency in design deliverables for our banking app and other customer touch points
• Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams—including product design, researchers, designers, technologists, and business experts to support the creation of customer-focused products and services
• Demonstrates an ability to support the broader business strategy, and deliver design system outcomes and outputs efficiently and on time to achieve success
• Uses insights and data to maintain and evolve our design system
• Champions and leads cross-discipline collaboration and actively engages to resolve complex design system and experience issues and deliver business outcomes
• Manage stakeholders, collaborate with disciplines to deliver design system excellence
• Helps to maintain, improve and scale our design system
• In-depth and practical experience setting up and maintaining tokens
• Practical knowledge of accessibility practices and standards (e.g. WCAG 2.2)
• Explores and embraces new or diverse methods and technologies to improve ways of working and the quality of the output

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Proven experience in hands-on design and design system roles, demonstrating high levels of craft and problem-solving in product/service environments
• Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered solutions to business and customer challenges Demonstrates how to translate experiences into systems
• Solution-oriented and experienced in delivering products with impact.
• Practical understanding of current and emerging tools, practices and technologies relevant to design systems
• Experience of system design across digital touchpoints, including native iOS and Android platforms.
• Proficiency in customer centric practices: usability testing, iterative design, and early-stage UX research methods
• Expert knowledge of modern design systems, prototyping software, and design tools

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Design system experience in Financial Services / Fintech
• Proficiency in usability testing, iterative design, and early-stage UX research methods
