Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking a Senior Design Services Manager to lead critical design projects for water treatment sites, steering the design lifecycle from concept through delivery. You will mentor other design professionals and collaborate with internal engineering teams to uphold high standards while keeping cost and schedule targets in focus.

You will bring substantial design or project management experience in engineering, along with NEC4/PM experience and APM qualifications.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in design or project management within engineering/infrastructure/utilities.
• Demonstrated leadership across multidisciplinary design teams and projects.
• APM PMQ or equivalent qualification; working towards Chartership.
• NEC4 ECC or equivalent contract administration experience.
• IOSH Leading Health and Safety in Construction or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-value water treatment design projects across multiple sites.
• Mentor and develop the design team including junior managers.
• Ensure design outputs meet price, programme and quality targets.
• Drive consultants to deliver on time, cost, and quality metrics.
• Manage contracts and commercial interfaces to maximize value for money.
• Report progress to senior leadership and escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure designs are operable and maintainable.
