Cundall Johnston & Partners LLP is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join our Data Centre team. You will lead or support design management for large-scale, technically demanding projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and guiding client engagements to deliver high-performance, sustainable infrastructure.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and active contribution to business growth, within a collaborative, specialist environment that values sustainability and innovation.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Experience delivering complex multidisciplinary construction projects, ideally within data centres, mission-critical, or similarly technical environments.
• Strong understanding of MEP-led coordination and organisational skills.
• Confident communication and stakeholder management.
• Understanding of project delivery, design processes, and risk management.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• (Associate level) Additional experience in leadership, client development, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the design management of large-scale data centre projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage project deliverables.
• Drive project meetings, workshops, and design reviews.
• Work closely with clients to manage expectations and ensure successful outcomes.
• Support commercial, programme, and risk management activities.
• Contribute to consistency and improvement in design management processes.
• Support team development, mentoring, and client engagement.
