Job summary

Equans Data Centers is seeking a Design Manager to lead design coordination on data centre projects in the UK. You will manage design teams, liaise with clients and coordinate information flows to support timely construction and fit-out.

The role requires experience with main contractors or large subcontractors, a background in electrical/mechanical or construction design, and a solid understanding of design and construction processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
• Background in Electrical/Mechanical or Construction design.
• In-depth knowledge of the design and construction process.
• Ability to identify and manage risks and solve problems.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Customer-focused with good client communication.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
• Experience in the data centres sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for design coordination within the project.
• Liaise with clients to establish information flow and platforms.
• Work with programmers to establish timelines and control design programme.
• Manage uploading of design information and ensure timely access.
• Monitor design management tools to ensure information availability.
• Organise and lead design team meetings with client.
• Identify and manage risks from drawings, specs, programme, procurement.
• Assist in ensuring work conforms to quality, environmental and safety standards.
