Job summary
Equans Sci-Tech is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical services design for data centres and mission critical facilities. You will mentor junior engineers, perform design reviews and ensure timely delivery across bid, design, installation and commissioning stages.
You will collaborate with project teams, manage technical risks, and provide high-quality solutions aligned with contractual obligations and standards.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in mechanical/building services engineering (BEng / Meng).
- Proven experience in mechanical services design to client requirements and standards.
- Experience leading multiple projects and guiding junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead design delivery across bid, design, installation and commissioning phases.
- Perform design reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Mentor and develop design team members; manage design risk and opportunities.
- Present monthly design progress reports and manage design documentation.
- Support tenders with engineering assessments and high-quality design solutions.
- Lead senior engineering activities and run design meetings with project teams.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and design standards.
