Job summary

Morson Group is seeking an experienced Design Manager based in or around South Wales and the South West, with travel to multiple sites in the region. You will manage client and design team interfaces to deliver compliant designs across projects and bids, ensuring safety and Buildability considerations are integrated.

You will lead the design process in line with CDM 2015, coordinate with planners and consultants, and maintain rigorous design programmes while addressing risks and opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience with CDM 2015.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage design delivery from concept to completion.
• Analytical with problem-solving skills.
• Able to read and interpret design and construction programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage client, subcontractor and design teams to develop and deliver designs efficiently.
• Lead the design process in line with Building Management System requirements.
• Apply CDM 2015 and safety in design principles.
• Identify and mitigate design risks and opportunities across bids or projects.
• Select and manage consultants and invite fees for fees management.
• Develop design programmes with planners and monitor release schedules and quality of deliverables.
• Manage statutory processes such as Planning, Building Control, and BREEAM.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure As-built meets design criteria.
