Client focus - Deliver on our promise:
- You will guide daily activities of the team of design management resources for project/s
- You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of design management to deliver key strategic outcomes & sub-function KPIs, directly influencing strategic development.
- You will be a point of contact for client design issues, ensuring relationships are managed and maintained.
- Review tender documentation and identify project risks
- Assisting the design team through theRIBA 2 to 4 design stage (generally) and the delivery teamthrough into implementation and handover.
- Demonstrate design management procedures, review programmes and set design deliverables.
- Attend/chair design coordination team meetings as necessary during contract, maintaining minutes, and ensuring the design risk register is maintained by the P.D.
- Oversee identification of constraints via a clash detection exercise and manage the resolution through design solution or identification of concession.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and client standards. Facilitate the process raising and agreeing concessions with stakeholders for derogations from ERs.
- Managing engagement with Building Control and CDM and Building Regulations processes related to Mace’s Principal Designer role.
- Monitor and report on design progress, statutory approvals (building control and baggage operations authority), outstanding information required, subcontractor design, environmental/CDM issues.
- Managing engagement with Building Control and CDM and Building Regulations processes related to Mace’s Principal Designer role.
- Develop and agree design input/output responsibilities between consultants and subcontractors with design responsibilities.
- Monitor progress and status of RFI's and document control.

You’ll need to have:
- A good understanding of the full design and construction process
- Be able to achieve full membership of a relevant professional body is required, and ideally you have it already.
- DfMA or MMC experience would be valued
- Aviation experience is preferred
- Experience in the Principal Designer role under CDM and Building Regulations is desirable, awareness of the duties is required.
- You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
- Experience with BIM 360 or ACC is appreciated
