Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Principal Design Lead to provide senior technical leadership across multiple social infrastructure schemes. You will bridge design management and strategic technical oversight, guiding bid-stage input and resolving complex design issues.

You will mentor design managers, review design information for compliance, and ensure buildable, cost-effective solutions while maintaining regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating at a senior design management level across multiple residential or mixed-use projects.
• Strong leadership with mentoring ability for Design Managers.
• Extensive knowledge of design management processes across all project stages (bid, pre-construction, construction, handover).
• Up-to-date knowledge of building safety legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid-stage technical input and design appraisals across schemes.
• Mentor Senior Design Managers and Design Managers to deliver compliant, buildable design solutions.
• Coordinate design programmes and ensure alignment with project objectives and budgets.
• Review and challenge design information for compliance and value engineering.
