Job summary

KAEFER UK & Ireland, Devonport-based Senior Design Engineer role, leading technical design of temporary works and bespoke access solutions within a highly regulated dockyard environment. You will oversee designs from site survey through to detailed analysis, independent checking, and field support.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) status or actively pursuing.
• Proven UK experience in temporary works or scaffold design.
• Knowledge of wind loading and BS5975 procedures.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and calculations for complex temporary works.
• Carry out Design Checking (Cat 2/3) per BS5975 and ensure buildability.
• Prepare calculation packs, risk assessments, and erection sequences.
• Mentor Design Engineers and CAD/BIM Technicians on projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and site procedures.
