Job summary

Severn Trent Water is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to deliver technical designs for our mains renewal programme, from feasibility through to construction and handover. You’ll coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, define approaches, and ensure designs meet standards, budgets and safety requirements, while supporting the design team’s growth.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and specifying for construction projects.
• Experience working to standards, codes and practices.
• Coaching skills to develop the design team.
• Full UK driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Agree design assessment and milestones with the Mains Renewal Programme Team.
• Define approach to each mains renewal programme, ensuring cost effectiveness and appropriate methods.
• High level appraisal and feasibility of conceptual designs to create TOTEX solutions.
• Undertake proactive risk management and maintain risk registers.
• Role of Principal Designer under CDM regulations.
• Ensure Health and Safety considerations are built into the design lifecycle.
