Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in the Burscough area. You will lead the design of piled foundations, retaining structures and ground improvement schemes for major infrastructure projects across the UK.

The role requires degree-qualified civil/geotechnical engineers with strong technical, leadership and communication skills. You will mentor graduates and drive best-practice within a growing design team, with opportunities for CPD and chartership support.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience in foundation engineering, geotechnical design or specialist ground engineering.
• Strong understanding of foundation design, retaining structures and ground improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design of piled foundations, retaining structures and ground improvement schemes.
• Designing ground anchors, soil nails and other specialist geotechnical solutions.
• Reviewing and checking engineering calculations and technical reports.
• Providing technical guidance and support throughout project delivery.
• Liaising with project managers, site teams and clients to resolve engineering challenges.
• Mentoring graduate and junior engineers.
• Driving innovation and promoting best practice across the design team.

Job Overview

• Leading the design of piled foundations, retaining structures and ground improvement schemes.
• Designing ground anchors, soil nails and other specialist geotechnical solutions.

Job Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Previous experience within foundation engineering, geotechnical design or specialist ground engineering.
• Strong understanding of foundation design, retaining structures and ground improvement techniques.
• Experience with PLAXIS, WALLAP, the Oasys Suite and AutoCAD is desirable.
• Excellent technical, communication and leadership skills.
• Proactive approach with ability to manage multiple projects.
