Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer to join our market‑leading geotechnical and ground engineering team in Camberley. You will design foundation piles, retaining structures and ground improvement solutions for tender and live projects, working with experienced design professionals.

The role suits someone with a Civil or Geotechnical engineering degree, a passion for technical problem solving and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Interest or experience in foundations and ground engineering.
• Experience with geotechnical design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design foundation piles, retaining structures and ground improvement solutions.
• Design ground anchors and soil nail systems.
• Produce efficient designs for both tender and live projects.
• Provide technical support to construction teams throughout project delivery.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports and design documentation.
• Work closely with project, estimating and site teams to develop cost‑effective engineering solutions.
• Contribute towards innovation and continuous improvement within the design department.

Design Engineer

Location: Camberley, Surrey

Salary: £40,000 - £49,000 (Grade 2) + Company Car or £4,730 Car Allowance + annual bonus.

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a market‑leading specialist contractor delivering complex geotechnical, foundation and ground engineering solutions across the UK. You will work alongside experienced design professionals, be involved throughout both the tender and project lifecycle, producing innovative and practical engineering solutions.

Job Overview

• Design foundation piles, retaining structures and ground improvement solutions.
• Design ground anchors and soil nail systems.
• Produce efficient designs for both tender and live projects.
• Provide technical support to construction teams throughout project delivery.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports and design documentation.

Job Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience, or a genuine interest, in foundations and ground engineering.
• Knowledge of piling, retaining structures, grouting, soil mixing, anchors or soil nails would be advantageous.
• Experience using software such as PLAXIS, WALLAP, the Oasys Suite or AutoCAD; training will be provided.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
