Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Consultant - Depositary Fund Oversight within the UK Depositary sub-team. The role focuses on ongoing risk oversight of funds, oversight of AFMs, and due diligence for NT.

You will monitor regulatory requirements, perform risk analyses, and help develop risk management frameworks. Strong collaboration with offshore locations and senior stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Depositary duties and responsibilities.
• Understanding of investment risk.
• Knowledge of fund products and operating structures, investment strategies and asset classes.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of the FCA regulations for Funds and Depositary responsibilities.
• Previous relevant risk management or compliance experience.
• Efficient in MS Office tools.
• Effective communication and relationship management skills.
• Excellent organisational skills attention to detail and ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing monitoring of regulatory (COLL & AIFMD) and Fund-specific requirements for AFMs; ensure delivery of effective compliance monitoring plans.
• Qualitative asset eligibility assessments (equities, bonds, structured products, derivatives, etc.).
• Other investment risk-related analysis (liquidity monitoring, derivative exposure, fair value pricing).
• Assist with developments to Depositary risk management frameworks (ESG oversight).
• Lead for Fund Oversight review of scheme launch & change events.
• Build and maintain external/internal relationships including offshore locations, AFM equivalents, senior managers & delegates.
• Perform due diligence visits and produce related reports (investment compliance monitoring, liquidity, fair value).
• Manage team workloads (text kept from original).
• Maintain KPIs and present MI for offshore locations.
