Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a senior Cyber Security Leader to develop and drive the cyber security strategy across Saab UK, reporting to Head of Security.

You will lead threat intelligence, risk assessments, and compliance with DefStan 05-138, ISO 27001 and other standards, while coordinating with IT, Engineering and suppliers.

The role requires SC or DV clearance or eligibility and will involve travel to Saab UK offices and occasional overseas travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security management in defence, aerospace, or government environments.
• Knowledge of secure communication protocols.
• Proven incident response leadership in high-security settings.
• Familiarity with defence compliance frameworks (MOD JSPs, NIST SP 800 series, ITAR, GDPR).
• Security clearance (SC or DV) or eligibility to obtain.
• Degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science or related field.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead cyber security policies aligned with defence standards.
• Act as Saab UK representative on the Global Cyber Council.
• Lead risk assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability management.
• Oversee cyber security audits and penetration testing across defence platforms and supply chains.
• Provide cyber security training and awareness programs for staff and contractors.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and programme teams embedding security into projects (DevSecOps).
