Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Carbon Consultant for the UK advisory team. You will deliver decarbonisation consultancy across infrastructure and related sectors, leading carbon footprinting, lifecycle assessment, and carbon management projects on global engagements.

You will mentor junior staff, develop data analyses, and support bids while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to advance net-zero ambitions and robust client solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in carbon footprinting/LCA/carbon management delivery in infrastructure/related sectors.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to influence clients and project teams.
• Strong knowledge of ISO14064, PAS2060, PAS2080 and carbon policy/legislation.
• Awareness of net-zero initiatives and broader sustainability issues.
• Flexible delivery capability, strategic as well as detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of carbon footprinting, lifecycle assessment, and carbon management projects.
• Manage projects to quality, time and budget requirements.
• Assess project performance against national/international standards and best practices.
• Advise on design choices to reduce operational and embodied carbon.
• Support client strategies to align with net-zero ambitions.
• Develop data analyses with traceable, robust calculations.
• Prepare reports and present results to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to bid submissions across sectors.
