Job summary

MERJE is seeking an experienced Legal Recoveries Manager to lead our litigation team and oversee debt recovery across English and Scottish jurisdictions. You will combine hands‑on litigation with people leadership, owning complex cases while coaching a high‑performing team.

You will work with senior stakeholders and external solicitors to drive successful recovery outcomes, manage legal risk, and continuously improve litigation processes.

Qualifications

• Experience managing litigation in debt recovery.
• In-depth knowledge of English and Scottish litigation processes.
• Proven coaching and development of high‑performing teams.
• Experience coordinating with external solicitors and courts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing Litigation Team.
• Oversee end‑to‑end litigation process and make informed action decisions.
• Coordinate with external solicitors across England and Scotland.
• Prepare witness statements, settlements, mediation, and hearings.
• Represent the company at trials and final hearings to recover debts.
• Provide litigation strategy guidance to senior management.
• Identify process improvements to drive recovery outcomes.
• Maintain clear updates on case progress and results.
