Job summary

Stantec is seeking a DCO Senior, Principal or Associate Planner to join our Infrastructure team across the UK. The role can be based from any UK office and focuses on consenting for major infrastructure projects, with duties spanning development, EIA strategy, and client engagement.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, mentor colleagues, and contribute to a supportive, collaborative culture. A clear pathway to chartered status is available, with flexible hybrid working and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Experience delivering planning and consenting for major infrastructure.
• Technical understanding of consenting regimes, especially DCOs.
• Professional qualification in Planning or Environment (or related field).
• Accreditation such as MRTPI and/or APM, CMI, CEnv or CEng is desirable.
• Credibility with clients and stakeholders, with confident communication and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate planning and consenting workstreams for major infrastructure projects (NSIPs under Planning Act 2008).
• Provide planning and EIA strategy advice and manage processes across regimes (DCO, TCPA, DNS).
• Guide projects through scheme development, advising on methodologies and assessments.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to shape deliverable programmes and manage risks.
