Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment is seeking a Senior Database Engineer in London to design, engineer and deploy Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL solutions. You will automate provisioning and deployments, integrate changes into CI/CD pipelines and work with development teams across production environments.

The role emphasises automation, resilience, security and modern engineering practices within a financial services context. Hybrid onsite work with frequent collaboration with architects and infra teams.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Oracle and PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience with Cassandra, MongoDB or Couchbase.
• Database engineering, performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python and/or Shell.
• IaC, CI/CD and Git experience.
• Experience supporting highly available, business-critical systems.
• Financial services or regulated environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and deploy Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL database solutions.
• Build and configure database environments from development to production.
• Automate database provisioning, configuration and deployments.
• Integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines.
• Support performance tuning, query optimisation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure high availability, security and recovery planning.
• Assist migrations, upgrades and modernisation initiatives.
