Job summary

Arcus Search is seeking an experienced Database Platform Engineer to design, build, operate database platforms across on-premise infrastructure and AWS. You will own automation, performance tuning, and scale engineering workloads in a fast-growing fintech environment.

You will collaborate with software and platform teams, drive monitoring and reliability, and help advance operational excellence for mission-critical databases.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL or CockroachDB.
• Experience operating database platforms at scale.
• Strong Linux and Python skills.
• IaC experience using Terraform, Ansible or similar.
• Kubernetes and container platform experience.
• AWS experience.
• Strong understanding of automation and platform engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and scale enterprise database platforms.
• Support PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, CockroachDB and other relational databases.
• Develop automation using Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Optimise database performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Design and improve monitoring, alerting, and platform reliability.
• Collaborate closely with software and platform engineering teams.
• Drive operational excellence across mission-critical database services.
