Job summary

Arcus Search is seeking a Platform Engineer to help build, automate and operate the database platforms that support critical engineering workloads. This hands-on role emphasizes automation, platform engineering and DevOps across Linux, Kubernetes, cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

You'll join a highly technical team focused on engineering quality, automation and solving complex problems at scale, developing expertise across modern database platforms and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong Linux and Python skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Ansible.
• Exposure to Kubernetes and container platforms.
• Experience building automation and operational tooling.
• An interest in distributed systems and modern infrastructure.
• Database experience is beneficial but not essential.

A research focused technology organisation operating large scale on premise and hybrid infrastructure is looking for a Platform Engineer to help build, automate and operate the database platforms that support critical engineering workloads.

This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on automation, platform engineering and DevOps. You'll help build reliable, scalable services while developing expertise across modern database platforms and distributed systems.

The environment spans Linux, Kubernetes, cloud and on premise infrastructure, with a strong focus on engineering quality, automation and solving complex technical problems at scale.

We're looking for engineers with solid technical fundamentals, a passion for automation and the curiosity to learn. Strong platform or DevOps experience is more important than already being a database specialist.

What you'll need:

• Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering
