Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to deliver high-impact analytics across the business. You will work with stakeholders to translate requirements into prioritised analytics initiatives and own end-to-end delivery, ensuring insights drive measurable value.

Ideal candidates will have strong Python and SQL skills, experience with statistics, and familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, PowerBI or Spotfire.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across multiple business units to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical requirements and measurable outcomes
• Own the planning and end-to-end delivery of analytics initiatives from discovery through delivery and impact assessment
• Assess potential business value and prioritise analytical opportunities across competing requirements
• Manage analytical initiatives spanning multiple business units, aligning scope, priorities, dependencies and timelines
• Develop robust analyses and data science solutions using Python, SQL and statistical methods
• Translate complex analysis into clear insights and actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences
• Define measures of success and evaluate impact to inform future priorities
• Identify opportunities where data and analytics can improve business performance and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure reliable data and scalable infrastructure
• Contribute to analytical standards and reusable practices across the data organisation
