This role involves leading a data science team within MOPAC to enhance London’s safety through data analysis and insights. MOPAC is responsible for overseeing policing and crime prevention in London, working closely with the Metropolitan Police Service and other stakeholders.
The Senior Data Scientist will manage a team, guide project activities, and contribute to MOPAC's data strategy by identifying trends, collaborating with leaders, and fostering innovation. Responsibilities include applying data science techniques such as data mining, visualization, predictive analytics, statistics, time series analysis, large language models, and geospatial analytics.
Key duties include developing the data science capability within MOPAC, ensuring data-driven decision-making, and presenting findings to various boards and meetings. Proficiency in SQL, DAX, M, Python, or R is required, along with experience in creating robust evaluation methodologies.
This position is suitable for a curious, flexible thinker with strong statistical, technical, and interpersonal skills, passionate about leveraging data for London's benefit.
