At Adur & Worthing Councils, we are committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of our customers' data. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Data Protection and Information Officer to lead on all aspects of the access to information regime, including processing and responding to information requests, advising on exemptions, monitoring and reporting on performance.

You will be the Councils’ designated Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with:

1. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
2. Data Audits: Conduct regular data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and audits to identify risks and ensure compliance.
3. Training & Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to raise awareness of data protection practices.
4. Incident Management: Lead responses to data breaches, mitigating risks and notifying authorities as required.
5. Advisory Role: Provide expert advice on data protection issues to management and stakeholders.
6. Data Subject Requests: Oversee and manage data subject access requests (DSARs).
7. Liaison: Coordinate with data protection authorities and legal teams.
