Job summary

Sky is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead data protection and privacy matters with a focus on AI usage and regulatory readiness. You will advise on UK GDPR, EU GDPR, ePrivacy, and related data protection laws, translating complex requirements into practical guidance for the business.

You will work across UK, Ireland and Italy, partner with Legal, DP Operations, Cyber, Technology, Sky Data and Commercial teams to ensure compliant use of data while enabling innovation and growth.

Qualifications

• UK and EU data protection expertise in-house or private practice.
• Experience advising on AI-related privacy issues and data protection laws.
• Ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice on UK GDPR, EU GDPR, ePrivacy, AI-related privacy issues.
• Lead or support senior stakeholders on high-risk and strategic matters including product launches and regulatory issues.
• Advise on DPIAs, data sharing, international transfers, and retention.
• Help implement the Group’s data protection legal framework across business areas.
• Collaborate with DPO, DP Operations, and other functions to align legal requirements with operations.
