Job summary

Sky UK Limited is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Data Protection & Privacy to lead guidance on UK GDPR, EU GDPR, ePrivacy and AI privacy issues across the business. This role reports to the Head Counsel and drives practical governance, DPIAs and cross-border transfers, partnering with Legal, DP Operations, Cyber, Technology, Sky Data and Commercial teams to enable compliant innovation.

Qualifications

Significant post-qualification experience advising on complex UK and EU data protection matters.
Experience influencing senior stakeholders and strategic decisions on privacy initiatives.
Deep expertise in UK GDPR, EU GDPR, ePrivacy and related regulatory frameworks.
Experience advising on privacy issues for content services, advertising tech, and data-driven customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality legal advice on UK GDPR, EU GDPR, ePrivacy and AI-related privacy issues.
Lead or support on complex, high-risk matters including product launches and regulatory issues.
Advise on AI, data, cyber and emerging digital regulatory issues and translate requirements into practical guidance.
Develop defensible legal positions and documentation across business units.
Support DPIAs, LIAs, data sharing, and international transfers; ensure consistent decision-making.
