Job summary

SoCode Limited is seeking a Staff Data Platform Engineer to take technical ownership of a large-scale analytical data platform in London or Oxford. You will lead platform architecture, drive performance, and shape a scalable Data-as-a-Service offering while guiding a small, hands-on team.

You'll work on ClickHouse-based OLAP systems, multi-tenant security, automation and observability, building reliable infrastructure that underpins AI-driven products and ensures secure data access and cost

Qualifications

Deep expertise in ClickHouse or comparable OLAP technologies.
Experience operating multi-tenant analytical systems at scale.
Strong knowledge of database internals, query optimisation, distributed architectures.
Proven record building scalable, observable data platforms with automation.
Experience leading a small team while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities

Design, optimise and scale multi-tenant ClickHouse OLAP platforms.
Build automation, observability and capacity management to improve resilience.
Shape architecture of a secure, multi-tenant data platform with immutable releases and discoverability.
Support AI infrastructure with secure data access for agents and automated systems.
Establish tenant isolation and least-privilege controls across the platform.
Set architectural direction and mentor engineers while staying hands-on.
