Job summary

The Stepstone Group is seeking a skilled Staff/Principal Engineer to lead our Data Platform team, shaping the technical direction across data, platform, and infrastructure domains. You will drive scalable, governable data solutions and collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product Managers and Enterprise Architects.

In this role you will mentor engineers, raise engineering standards, and champion AI-assisted development and automation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Staff Engineer or Principal Engineer in a senior IC leadership role.
• Strong background in data platforms, distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical vision, roadmap and architecture of the Data Platform across data, platform and infrastructure domains.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices and reusable patterns with Enterprise Architecture alignment.
• Drive engineering excellence by improving code quality, testing, observability, reliability and operational practices.
• Mentor engineers and champion AI-assisted development and engineering automation.
