Job summary

Humanoid in London is hiring a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. You will help build a data platform from the ground up, defining architecture, making key decisions, and handling petabyte-scale data for humanoid robot training.

The role emphasizes production-grade backend services, data pipelines, ML collaboration, and secure, scalable data warehousing. This is a hands-on, end-to-end ownership role with opportunities to shape the platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with end-to-end ownership.
• Strong backend engineering for production-grade APIs and services.
• PB+ scale data engineering with batch and streaming processing.
• Experience with workflow orchestration and distributed systems.
• Cloud infrastructure experience with cost, reliability, and security focus.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Build the Capability Factory - an internal platform enabling the organization to teach HMND robots new skills at scale.
• Curate, preprocess, and manage large-scale datasets for humanoid robot training.
• Design and operate scalable data pipelines and compute infrastructure.
• Ensure quality and consistency of training data across projects.
• Collaborate with ML teams to shape the capability factory and MLOps workflows.
• Build data warehouse solutions and BI dashboards for stakeholders.
• Establish and uphold best practices for data management, versioning, access control, security, and compliance.
