Job summary

Thehumanoid is building a world-class data platform in London to support petabyte-scale robot data. We seek a Sr./Staff Software Engineer to lead data engineering, define architecture, and own end-to-end delivery of scalable pipelines and neural training data workflows.

You will shape the Capability Factory, build reliable data infrastructure, and collaborate with ML teams to ship impactful robot capabilities. London-based, on-site, with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex systems end-to-end.
• Strong backend engineering with production-grade APIs and services.
• PB+ scale data engineering and data pipelines experience.
• Workflow orchestration with scalable multi-step pipelines.
• Distributed systems fundamentals and failure modes at scale.
• Cloud infrastructure fluency with security-conscious design.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes experience.
• Full-stack capability from database to UI.
• Production ownership and on-call incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Build the Capability Factory internal platform to teach robots new skills at scale.
• Curate, preprocess and manage large-scale datasets for robot training.
• Design and operate scalable data pipelines and compute infrastructure.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across projects and platforms.
• Collaborate with ML teams to shape the factory and MLOps.
• Build data warehouse solutions and BI dashboards for stakeholders.
• Establish data management best practices: versioning, access control, security, compliance.
