Job summary

JN Bentley is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in Leeds to design and implement scalable data warehouse and Microsoft Fabric solutions. You will define data architecture standards, model data, and develop pipelines, while mentoring a data team in a hybrid Leeds office.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior data roles with data architecture/engineering focus.
• Experience designing and delivering cloud data platforms (Fabric/Azure).
• Strong knowledge of SQL, data modelling, warehousing, and lakehouse concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data warehouse and Microsoft Fabric solutions
• Define data architecture standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices
• Develop data models aligned with business requirements
• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, files, and third-party platforms
• Set standards for ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption
• Support data governance, quality, security, lineage, and access controls
• Optimize performance, resilience, storage, and cost of the data platform
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions
• Provide technical leadership, design assurance, and mentoring
• Line manage data team members, including objective setting and development
