Job summary

Deekay Recruitment is partnering with a large organisation in the North East to hire a Senior Data Engineer. You will design, build and improve data infrastructure using Microsoft Fabric and Azure, delivering scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data models for analytics.

The role focuses on data quality, governance, and performance, with hands-on work on pipelines, warehouses and lakehouse architectures, and collaboration with stakeholders. Hybrid work in the North East is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data ecosystem.
• Strong SQL skills and data modelling expertise.
• Proven ETL/ELT pipeline development experience.
• Data warehousing and lakehouse architectural knowledge.
• Proficiency in Python or PySpark and Power BI data models.
• Focus on data quality, governance and GDPR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines from multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, warehouses and lakehouses.
• Work in a Microsoft/Azure data environment including Fabric.
• Develop datasets to support Power BI analytics.
• Improve data quality, reliability, automation and performance.
• Contribute to data architecture and technical design decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to teammates and ensure governance.
