Job summary

Quotient Therapeutics seeks a Senior Engineer to design and evolve its cloud, data and AI infrastructure underpinning a genomics-first drug discovery platform.

You will lead AWS platform engineering, data systems and AI workloads, collaborating with cloud and data engineers, bioinformaticians and scientists to deliver secure, scalable platform capabilities in a hybrid role at the Chesterford Research Campus near Cambridge.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience designing, building and operating production cloud or data infrastructure (7+ years).
• Advanced hands-on experience with AWS and ownership of multiple interdependent production systems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, containerised workloads, cloud networking, IAM and observability.
• Strong Python and Linux skills, including testing, version control and automation.
• Experience with data-intensive life-science systems or workflows and scientific data provenance.
• Experience enabling AI/ML workloads in cloud environments (training, inference, orchestration).
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and evolution of the AWS-based infrastructure across cloud services and AI/ML workloads.
• Design and implement reusable IaC, CI/CD and environment-management patterns.
• Own cross-cutting decisions for observability, IAM, networking, resilience and data lifecycle management.
• Partner with Cloud/Data Engineers to deliver integrated solutions and provide technical mentoring.
• Collaborate with AI scientists and computational biologists to translate model needs into platform capabilities.
• Diagnose and resolve complex failures; lead incident reviews and drive improvements.
• Establish engineering standards for testing, documentation, release readiness and cost visibility.
• Evaluate new technologies and shape the infrastructure roadmap with leadership.
