Job summary

Quilter plc is seeking a skilled Data Platform Engineer to join the Chief Data Office. You will design and deliver cloud-native data platform capabilities across data engineering, BI, analytics, and AI workloads.

This role requires hands-on Azure, Databricks and Fabric experience, IaC and CI/CD discipline, and close collaboration with data teams to enable a data-driven culture. Based in Southampton or London, the role focuses on scalable, secure platforms with strong observability, performance

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical discipline or evidence of equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining data platforms in Azure, Databricks and Fabric ecosystems.
• Experience automating delivery via IAC and deployment pipelines; knowledge of CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of cloud security, data access patterns, privacy controls, and platform reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-native data platform capabilities for data engineering, BI, analytics and AI workloads.
• Ensure platforms meet standards, patterns, and cost-efficiency with IaC and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, analysts and data scientists to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Embed security-by-design, manage identity, access control, encryption and network security.
• Improve onboarding, delivery processes, and self-service capabilities for platform tenants.
• Maintain high availability, performance and observability with monitoring and incident handling.
