Job summary

The Very Group is seeking an experienced data leader to drive the strategy and execution of a scalable data engineering function. You will lead multiple engineering managers and collaborate with Architecture, Product and Business teams to deliver trusted data products that power decision making across the group.

You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, managing technical debt and modernising our data platforms in a fast-paced, data-rich environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading large-scale data engineering teams.
• Experience delivering data platforms and pipelines at scale.
• Strong stakeholder management at senior levels.
• Experience with AWS and cloud data platforms.
• Experience with multi-cloud or complex enterprise data environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Engineering Managers and BI Engineering Managers to deliver data products.
• Shape and execute the data engineering strategy across platforms and teams.
• Drive modern engineering practices and responsible for technical debt management.
• Ensure secure, scalable data products and trusted data access for the business.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Product and Technology leaders to align priorities.
