Sovos is building a world-class data platform in the UK and seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own the full pipeline—from ingestion to close-ready outputs. You will design Snowflake schemas, build dbt models, ensure data quality, and support finance stakeholders with trusted data for FP&A and accounting decisions.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience building production data pipelines at scale.
• Advanced SQL skills including CTEs and window functions.
• Production dbt experience with tests and documentation.
• Snowflake proficiency: roles, governance, row-level security.
• Experience supporting financial close cycles and on-call ownership.
• Strong ability to engage finance stakeholders and map outputs to requirements.
• Preferred: Python for pipeline scripting and orchestration.
• Preferred: Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure/AWS).
• Nice to have: CRM/ERP integration, MCP or similar AI data frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Snowflake schema and dbt model architecture for the topline data chain.
• Deliver ingestion and transformation models with tests and documentation.
• Own pipeline reliability through financial close and be on-call escalation.
• Establish data quality standards and Snowflake governance patterns.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineer on business-layer model design.
• Extend models to cover OPEX, COGS, commissions, ASC 340-40 capitalized software.
• Write dbt YAML documentation as production deliverable.
• Manage row-level security and model freshness SLAs for real-time AI queries.
