Job summary

UK Home Office is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and lead data flows connecting operational systems with analytics and BI, focused on cloud financial management in a hybrid Glasgow/Salford/Sheffield setting.

The role emphasizes cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting and governance, with mentorship of junior engineers and collaboration with the Data Science community and Product Owners.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance or FinOps.
• Ability to analyse data and financial data.
• Experience with data flows and ETL is helpful.
• Familiar with governance and cost management practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead complex data flows to support analytics and BI.
• Manage cloud cost allocation, budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product Owners and finance teams.
• Mentor junior team members and promote an agile working approach.
