Job summary

Lloyd’s Market Insurer is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in London to own and optimise the core ETL pipeline for monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes. You will drive a cloud-native transformation and oversee data integrity across on-prem and cloud platforms.

The role targets expert ETL with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and other cloud technologies, coordinating with IT and finance stakeholders to deliver scalable data workflows and robust documentation.

Qualifications

We are recruiting for a SeniorData Engineer on behalf of awell-respected Lloyd’s Market Insurer.

This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of financialdata integrity and cloud transformation. You will own the ETL pipeline thatunderpins monthly, quarterly and year-end close cycles, while simultaneouslydriving a strategic migration from legacy on-premise infrastructure to amodern, cloud-native data platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and monitoring the ETLpipeline to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Acting as the technical pointof contact during the Monthly, Quarterly and Year-end Close process.
• Designand build scalable ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory and Databricks,replacing legacy SSIS pipelines.
• Identifying opportunities toharden and automate manual steps within the Finance Close workflow
• ConductT-SQL performance tuning across on-prem and cloud environments.ConductT-SQL performance tuning across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Collaboratewith IT and business stakeholders to fix data issues, gather requirementsand produce technical documentation.

Key Requirements

• Experience of supporting thePhinsys System is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience of Cloudbased platforms and technologies such as Synapse Analytics, Fabric,Databricks, Snowflake.
• Azure DBA experience isadvantageous.
• Solid knowledge of ETLtechnologies, specifically SSIS and Azure Data Factory and pipelines.
• Solid knowledge of core SQLServer elements including T-Sql, queries, stored procedures, functions andSSAS.
• Comfortable working with VisualStudio IDE (VS2022 and later).
• Comfortable working with AzureDevOps for source code control.
